Group 1 Donates $250,000 to Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum
Gift to Support “More than Magic Innovative Exhibit on Postal Technology
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) announced today that it is donating $250,000 to the Smithsonian Institution's National Postal Museum in support of an exhibition on postal automation. Entitled "More than Magic," the exhibit will be a state-of-the-art, interactive exhibit devoted to the history of mailing-related services and contemporary mail technology.
"We are very pleased to partner with the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum in the development of the "More than Magic" exhibit of mailing technology," said Bob Bowen, CEO of Group 1 Software. "The National Postal Museum is a highly valuable resource in educating Americans of all ages about America's important postal history."
"Group 1 has been involved with the planning of this exciting new exhibition from the beginning, and its generosity now will ensure that it will be a resounding success," said James Bruns, Director of the National Postal Museum. "Group 1's support is crucial to the success of this exhibit because much of what our postal system will do in the future is connected with direct marketing and mailing efficiency applications."
"More than Magic" will enable visitors to "become a piece of mail" on a virtual ride through mail processing equipment. The exhibit is being developed in conjunction with the museum's Director's Council, chaired by former Postmaster General Paul Carlin.
