Pitney Bowes' Group 1 Software Wins IIST's "Software Testing Best Practice" Award
Pitney Bowes' Group 1 Among the Five Winning Companies Selected for Achieving Significant Improvement in Testing Practices
LANHAM, MD (December 17, 2007) — Group 1 Software, a Pitney Bowes Company (NYSE: PBI), won the International Institute for Software Testing’s (IIST) “Software Testing Best Practices Award” announced at the Las Vegas International Testing Certification Super Week event held during the week of November 25, 2007.
“This award is validation for our QA team who oversaw the most successful annual release of our software in the company’s history,” said Kurt Hasbrouck, Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software Vice President and General Manager of Location Intelligence. “Over the course of 2007, our team not only improved our QA processes, but our engineering processes as a whole. Throughout that period we have had only two customer-reported defects requiring a patch. Each took less than two days to turn around and both issues were deemed as beyond the normal utilization needs of our software.”
ITIL’s Board of Judges reviewed nominations from 36 medium to large organizations. They selected Group 1 Software as one five winners for this year’s award. Winners had to exhibit improvements in areas such as test management, requirement management, and test execution. Group 1 Software credited IIST’s CSTP certification program as having helped them implement best practices to improve performance.
