Group 1 Releases Message1 to Facilitate Creation of Tailored Marketing Messages
Marketers Have New Tool for Creating One-to-One Messages with DOC1 Application
Lanham, MD — Group 1 Software (Nasdaq: GSOF) announced today the release of Message1, a software solution that offers marketers unprecedented flexibility to develop, manage and deliver personalized marketing messages. The new application enables marketers to control message content, format and selection criteria for marketing messages. Message1 is a messaging subsystem of DOC1, the fastest way to produce dynamic, easy-to-read, personalized business documents for print and on-line delivery. Message1 enables users to select individuals who should receive messages based on customer or prospect data. The application supports the development and rollout of sophisticated message campaigns over time. The insertion of cross-selling messages on bills, invoices, and statements enables marketers to turn these routine customer communication vehicles into powerful, strategic selling tools. Message1 enables marketing departments to assign message start/end dates and exclude messages if certain conditions exist. The application also enables users to include variable data, such as a customer's name, in the message text. Message1 automatically routes messages through review cycles, drastically reducing internal review time. Marketing departments can make last-minute changes to message content without affecting the DOC1 application, thus not compromising production schedules or document integrity. By eliminating iterative unit testing of marketing messages, Message1 accelerates the deployment of personalized customer communication. Message1 supports word-processing formatting capabilities, such as text justification, color, image importing, and the ability to use multiple fonts in various weights and sizes. It can also be integrated with Group 1's predictive modeling tool, Model 1, which helps marketers predict responses to direct marketing campaigns. Message1 runs under Windows NT and Windows 95/98. The DOC1 system allows dynamic document applications to be developed in a WYSIWYG environment on a PC running Windows NT. The DOC1 production engine can run under MVS, Open VMS, Windows NT, UNIX (Sun Solaris, HP/UX and AIX), OS/400, OS/2 or PC DOS. DOC1 is completely printer independent and produces Metacode, AFP, HP/PCL, PostScript output as well as PDF for on-line delivery.
