Greater Cincinnati Water Works Implements Group 1 Software’s DOC1 Series 5
Utility Enabled to Provide Easier-to-Read Bills and Enhanced Customer Service and Cost Savings
Lanham, MD, May 17, 2005 — Group 1 Software, Inc., a Pitney Bowes Company, today announced that Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) has implemented DOC1® Series 5 to improve its customer billing operations and customer service. DOC1 Series 5 is the cornerstone of Group 1's Customer Communications Management (CCM) solution, which simplifies the gathering and manipulation of data, streamlines document creation and distribution, and ensures information is accessible and secure.
“Utilities worldwide that want to enhance both their bills and their customer service continue to turn to Group 1,” said Alan Slater, president of Group 1 Software's DOC1 Division. “We are pleased that GCWW has joined the likes of Sprint Canada, TXU Utilities, Entergy, and Scottish Power in choosing Group 1 solutions to reduce costs and maximize the effectiveness of their customer communications.”
GCWW is using DOC1 to produce easy-to-understand utility bills that help reduce billing-related inquiries into the utility's call center. In addition, GCWW customer service agents can now view customer bills on-line, enabling faster call closure and fewer call backs. Walk-up payments have been simplified as customers can now obtain a copy of their bill from the security guard in the lobby prior to seeing the cashier.
“We're finding feedback is positive on several fronts regarding the new billing statement”, said Paul Vonder Meulen, IT manager at GCWW. “Our customers appreciate the improved legibility of the statement as we now provide targeted information instead of blanketing every customer with generic messages. Additionally, by producing all our documents – both bills and correspondence – with DOC1, we've been able to consolidate our mailings and receive larger postal discounts as a result.”
At GCWW, DOC1 is being used in conjunction with the Indus Advantage Customer Management Suite. According to Vonder Meulen, after a thorough review process, one of the reasons Group 1 was selected is due to the fact that the Company is “extremely familiar with our industry and the data feed from the Indus system.”
Group 1 Software is demonstrating DOC1 and its other CCM products at CIS Conference 29, being held in Phoenix from May 17, 2005 May 20, 2005 at the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center (booth #101.)
